5 MINUTES WITH GREGORY LEBLANC

Gregory Leblanc is fast becoming the ‘unbeatable man’ in French motorcycle racing, with four FSBK titles plus three Bol d’Or winners medals in a row!
2010 was an important year for me as I started with the new SRC Kawasaki team, winning the French Supersport title and our first Endurance win at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

In French Superbike I’m alone on the bike so I can set it up especially for my riding style. In Endurance you have to make compromises to be sure that the bike will suit each rider. That’s the main difference in outlook. Of course the bikes are not the same; in French Superbike the Ninja ZX-10R I’m using in a way is like a Superstock 1000 machine. For Endurance we have big differences as the swing arm, forks, engine and electronics are also highly modified. That means that even if the Endurance bike is more powerful it’s also easiest to ride due to the large range of settings that we could use. But in the end you always have to brake late and turn on the gas as fast as possible!

To win at one of the two big French Endurance events is an incredible feeling, it’s amazing to see all this crowd just in front of you. I’m hoping for more of this in September for the Bol d’Or in the Endurance World Championship round.

I’ve been a Kawasaki rider since 2010 and I found in the SRC team a second family. We grew together and for sure after winning races and French titles, the next target is to grab the Endurance World Championship crown this year. I hope we will be able to achieve what we deserve this season. As a French rider, some people think that I’m ‘just’ an endurance racer, I want to show that I can ride in World Superbike, so maybe if next year Kawasaki wants to bet on me… I’m ready!

Away from racing I’m dedicated to my training but also building things for my house. I have a young daughter named Ambre and my wife and I are expecting a new baby for the end of this year. So for sure it will be a very happy and busy Christmas!
