Owner of Quattro Plant, John Murphy, has supported riders in both BSB and road racing for some years and, in the last two rounds of the 2011 BSB season, Murphy supported Quattro Plant rider Steve Heneghan on the PR Racing Ninja ZX-10R superbike in place of an injured Andrews.
Concentrating on Superstock 1000 Championship and road racing in 2012, Heneghan is optimistic saying, ”The schedule for the road racing calendar will be to contend the TT, NW200 and Ulster Grand Prix. Competing in the Ulster Grand Prix will be a first for me, so I am really excited about the year ahead.”
Joining the already signed Heneghan and former Superbike Cup Championship winner, Gary Mason, in the fresh new squad, Freddy Foray already has an impressive racing CV. A regular top five finisher in the French superbike series and finishing 3rd overall in the FSBK Championship in 2009, Foray is no stranger when it comes to stamping his authority on short circuit racing.
Signing for the team, Freddy said. “Coming to the UK has been a goal of mine for 2012 and I would like to thank Quattro Plant Kawasaki for this opportunity. It will be very exciting making my debut for both Quattro Plant and the British Superbike Championship. The calibre of riders this year is very high. It will be a challenge, which I am looking forward to. I am keen to get out on the Quattro Plant Kawasaki as soon as possible and learn the UK tracks.”
Julian Mosquera, Quattro Plant Kawasaki Development Director added. “We are really excited to have a rider of Freddy’s experience and talent, it is a real asset to the team, and I know he and Gary (Mason) will complement each other throughout the season.
As a team, we have been working hard in the closed season signing Gary and working on new sponsorship deals. This hard work has allowed us to attract the attention of a racer such as Freddy. The superbikes are in the workshop being finishing and both riders and bikes will be out on track over the next few weeks.”
