After her impressive starting performance in the successful early rounds and quarter final, Francesca burned the asphalt and won the semi-final against a 1200cc V twin. She just lost her final race on Saturday versus Ex Superbike World Champion Carl Fogarty on a 1200cc-supercharged bike.... around twice the cubic capacity of the Vulcan S.
Our congratulations go to the superfast girl from Verona/Italy and also to the Kawasaki tuning specialists: Tommy Holzner of Warm Up Zweiradtechnik in Aalen who was responsible for chassis/design and created a great looking, slim café racer. Dieter Briese of Motorrad Höly in Schriesheim got an impressive 90ps performance out of the original 61ps Vulcan S 650cc engine. This power is gained without the use of Nitrous Oxide which will be the final special ingredient added at the Intermot final.
Spectators at Glemseck 101 cheered for Francesca and the cool looking candy green Kawasaki Vulcan S "Underdog" and the whole Kawasaki Essenza Team. Fans and customers can vote for the bike on http://www.essenza-louis.de/ Customers‘ vote will count for 50 per cent for the final design contest. The other 50 per cent will come from a professional jury of journalists, designers and customisers.
The final result will be announced at the INTERMOT show, Cologne where the Essenza final takes place on 8 October!
