Recently launched and priced at £5149, the A2 compliant Versys-X 300 has expanded Kawasaki’s Dual Purpose family and has made the Versys ‘Any Road, any time’ concept available to even more riders.
The 296cc water-cooled parallel twin engine has been tuned for low and mid-range power. It features an Assist and Slipper clutch, a large windshield and long travel 41mm telescopic front forks and bottom link Uni-Trak gas charged shock at the rear. The meter package offers a digital gear indicator, dual trip meters, remaining fuel range plus current and average consumption and an eco-riding indicator allowing over 400kms between tank re-fills.
Styling has been a key feature of the Versys family since the original 650cc machine was launched in 2006 and the new Versys-X is no exception. The large-volume bodywork displays fashionable adventure styling delivering the ‘big bike looks” that so many aspiring riders are attracted to. Combined with the low seat height the accessibility of the latest in the Versys line is undeniable.
There’s a wide range of accessories available - a range of options including an ERGO-FIT optional higher seat plus a wide variety of other parts including luggage and touring oriented options.
Official Kawasaki Experience Partner DragonMotoTours owners, Jan and Geraint Hughes, tour thousands of miles throughout the UK and Europe every year and chose a Versys machine:
“The Kawasaki Versys has been our touring bike of choice since it first came onto the market. Since 2012 we’ve had 5 Versys 1000 machines between us covering a total of 160,000 miles with the original bike having done 86,000 miles - we still use this one too!.
“The upright style and excellent seat for both rider and pillion offers the comfort we require to enjoy the roads and take in the scenery of all the countries we tour through. We have been extremely impressed with the fuel range (250+ miles), and luggage capacity which the Versys provides, both are key things to consider if you are a seasoned tourer or new to it.
“For anyone with some touring experience in Europe we recommend Bavaria and the Austrian Tirol, or closer to home Mid Wales, both with spectacular views and great riding roads at every turn. If the world of motorcycle touring is new to you, we’d recommend that you plan and prepare for your trip and also be realistic on your daily mileages.” For more information on DragonMotoTours visit:
