With riders still joining the ranks of those who raced handlebar to handlebar at Norfolk’s’ Snetterton 300 circuit in late March, the mix of growing talent and raw enthusiasm is already creating some healthy rivalry’s according to Ross Burridge, Racing Coordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, the co-partner in the series alongside BEMSEE, the British Motorcycle Racing Club.
“There were four races over the Snetterton weekend and sixteen year old Rowan Miller of Waterlooville in Hants made each race his own while pushing the lap times down. Finally his Ninja 250R dipped to two seconds faster than the current recognised class record set in the Superteens series”.While Rowan has some previous experience on track, the runner up in each of the four outings is fresh to tarmac having honed his competition skills in motocross. Like so many ultimately successful road racers before him, fellow sixteen year old Mason Law has an off-road background and declared himself hooked on the quarter litre series while wishing to move one step up the podium.
“This is a mega way to start circuit racing”, said Mason. “The Ninja 250R looks like a proper race bike and is really well built so a whole season of racing should be simple and relatively cheap. Of course it’s going to get harder to keep on the podium as more riders join the grid, but competing in front of thousands of people at Brands Hatch over the coming Easter weekend is going to be amazing”.For details of how to join the 2012 Rapid Solicitors National Junior Cup, contact Mike Dommett of BEMSEE at mikedommett@hotmail.com
