Following Shane Byrne’s achievement in becoming 2012 BSB Champion, the event also marked the first Kawasaki overall Championship win for twenty years. Now the manufacturer hopes that a Kawasaki rider will once more make the top spot in 2013 making it two Championships back to back.

Speaking about the series win and prospects for the coming year, Racing Coordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, Ross Burridge, was fulsome in his praise for the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki team and their recently unveiled rider line up.

“Shakey Byrne is a real class act. His race-craft and application this year were awesome in the truest sense of the word. With the support of Paul Bird, the skilled technicians of the tight knit race team and Rapid Solicitors, there is a very real chance of him becoming the most successful BSB racer ever and lifting that historic fourth Championship trophy.

Add to that the exciting prospect of 2012 British Superstock 1000 winner Keith Farmer lining up on the same grid as Shakey, and the odds of seeing the team repeat their current success are stacked in their favour. With increasing representation on the Superbike grid - and a swathe of riders opting for the Ninja ZX-10R in Superstock 1000 - the season ahead is once more one to relish”
